ATM

ATM @ BRANDON ROAD

ATM is a London-based artist who hails from Rochdale, northern England and studied art in Sheffield. Growing up in the dales he was no stranger to nature and it’s these roots that have inspired him to paint rare and endangered British birds.

ATM started out as part of collective - Anarchist Trouble Makers - that wanted to have a social impact, art that was connected to what was happening in the real world. Whilst the group is no longer, it was at this time he began painting birds due to his concern about the environment and in 2014 he began painting them across the capital, a juxtaposition to the places they were once found.

ATM kicked off 2015’s murals by painting two Pied Wagtails in the Brandon Road Car Park, off Wood Street.

ATMA @ BEDFORD RD CAR PARK

ATMA is the Sanskrit word for ‘Soul’. Born in Bordeaux, France in 1979, he lives and works in London. His approach to art encapsulates the hopes and aspirations of the eternal self-quest; his search for truth. ATMA is known for his portrait work and has applied this to his murals. He most recently painted William Morris on a gable end wall, the climax of our Paint Your Pattern campaign - More info can be found here.

He’s also worked with the Bracey family to paint a mural in the local hero’s memory.

Teddy's work celebrates "man's best friend" with stencilled dogs appearing across the capital and beyond. His pieces are more often than not humorous and put dogs in human situations. His inspiration comes from a natural love of dogs and the varying character and style a dog brings.

Disenchantment with 'the gallery' led him to painting and curating art exhibitions in unusual places.

Dale grew up in Lancashire in the 70s, studying at Blackburn College of Art and going on to achieve his Bachelor of Fine Art degree at Middlesex University. It wasn’t until 2006 that Dale took up art full time having spent many years working in music and running a gallery.

Dale had his first solo show, Echoes And Exorcisms, at Signal Gallery Hoxton, London in April 2008. Since then he has rapidly became one of the leading artists in the London Urban Art scene. Dale’s piece is a continuation of his “Tribes People” that have featured in his murals and is the first piece of 2015 so we’re very lucky to have worked with him.

EELUS

EeLUS - TRIP THE LIGHT FANTASTIC

Balancing the opposing forces of the humorous and macabre, vivid color and stark monochrome, Eelus’ work brings the beautiful and sometimes caustic realities of the world together.

His central stark figures – often melancholic women – are limned in a riotous display of joyous color, suggesting the entanglement and necessity of light and dark.

Drawing inspiration from pop culture, film, graphic design and art history, his paintings, murals, and screen prints continue to play and provoke.

Eelus has exhibited and painted extensively around the globe alongside the very top names in the contemporary street and urban art scene.

He currently lives in Brighton, UK.

Remi Rough continues to challenge the boundaries of contemporary painting as he traverses between the collected history of art and today’s urban lexicon. Thematically he continues to explore associations between Suprematist concepts, Abstract Expressionism and Graffiti art. Which in practice and theory they become ever present. This amalgamation yields a new type of modernist painting, one that reflects his passion for the aforementioned but also his desire to re-imagine it all for todays world.

On stickers, posters, using stencils and on banners the image has appeared on streets, at music festivals, in sports stadiums and on museum walls. 15 years on from it's conception, the 'project' continues with the Toaster being placed both in it's purest form and in various abstracted states.
